5 Killer Tips To Explode Sales

Here are a few helpful suggestions to increase your sales without adding massive amounts of work to your day!

1. When you make a sale, follow-up with the customer! These days, so many sites simply grab the cash and disappear – but those that follow up with new customers show that they care and are around for the long haul. You could follow-up with a “thank you” email that reinforces the reason the purchased in the first place, and offer them “unadvertised bonuses” to generate goodwill… Later, you could offer advice on how to best use your product, or offer other related products. Automate the process using your autoresponder – and customize each series to target the product purchased.

2. Upsell your customers. Once someone clicks on your “Buy Now” button, they have made the decision to spend money. Before sending them to pay for their purchase, tell them about a few extra related products you have for sale. They could just add it to their original order. A “One Time Offer” is a great thing to have, but try to keep it full of value and still related to the original purchase!

3. “Tell-A-Friend” scripts are all over the place. I personally hate them when they interfere with my enjoyment of a site, or as a prerequisite to completing a task (like a free download). There are ways to use it that are less intrusive, however. Give your customers the option of obtaining a discount or rebate if they care to send your product link to their friends. For site visitors, simply have the option available – they may love your site and would appreciate a way to share!

4. When you are selling a product, give your customers the option of joining your Affiliate Program so they can make commissions selling your product. This will multiply the sale you just made. It’s always smart to make your Affiliate Program available to all visitors… sometimes another marketer will love your product enough to promote it to their list while not requiring it themselves. Never make purchasing the product a prerequisite to joining.

5. Sell Resale Rights to your products. This is a great option for your “One Time Offer” upsell! There are many ways to customize the resale rights you sell for your products, and just having the option available can make or break a sale.

Who’s Stealing Your Stuff?

I was reading a rant by another blogger who was annoyed by those who were copying his content into their websites without giving him the proper accreditation. He was looking for a solution to his problem, something different than Copyscape… and boy, did he find it!

There’s a great new FREE tool called Tynt Tracer (currently in expanded beta) that covertly tracks those who copy even just a little of your content… and adds YOUR link to the copied material!

Seriously… This Is The Coolest Thing!!

Check out this short demo video:

Let me know if you find this as awesome as I do!

Pet Peeve: Why I Am Ripping My Hair Out

I can’t be the ONLY marketer who runs into this situation.

I run about 30 extremely active websites. I have another 50 or so that run with minimal supervision… and another bunch in development at any given moment.

Now this issue doesn’t crop up too often, but it happens enough that I took great pains to avoid the problem, yet here it is again.

EMAIL IS NOT A RELIABLE FORM OF COMMUNICATION!

I just got a message from someone letting me know that THEY had received a HELP DESK TICKET because the person didn’t get a reply from an email they had sent to me – and this person (for whatever reason) decided to complain to the person who referred my services.

I HAVE A SUPPORT DESK!

If I don’t receive an email, there can be many reasons for it…

Perhaps your email was deleted as SPAM by some vigilant filter.

Maybe it got lost in the hundreds of garbage emails I get every single day and it was simply overlooked.

Perhaps I am not at my main computer for a few days due to travel, and have not yet seen it.

Or a simple misspelling of an email address sent it off to Siberia.

Whatever.

Social networks like Twitter, Facebook, MySpace, etc. are NOT a good way to reach me either. I do not monitor these for important business communications – I use them for social networking and entertainment, and do not have time to spend more than a few hours a week tending to these accounts.

I set up my Support Desk because it is FAR more reliable than email. Submitting a ticket, you can’t misspell my email address, or get lost in a SPAM filter or junk folder. If I am away from my main computer for a few days, I check my Support Desk regularly to make sure anyone who needs me gets an answer right away.

Here’s my lesson for today:

If you have an important question, concern or request that you need an answer for immediately, USE MY SUPPORT DESK.

The Two Biggest Reasons Why Most People Will Never Make a Full-Time Income Online…

It all starts when some well-meaning (yet misdirected) person encourages a budding internet entrepreneur to “start in a niche they know alot about”, or base their business around “something they’re passionate about”…

As horrible as it may sound – they’ve unknowingly sent the hopeful entrepreneur down a path of false expectations, poor results and eventually – failure. In fact, the myth of “do what you love and the money will follow” has been responsible for more failure than likely any other influence – perhaps even more so than laziness or a lack of perseverance.

Because the simple truth of the matter is that the only way you’re going to make real money on the net is if your business is based around two crucial things:

1) Large Demand

2) Buyers

In other words – you aren’t going to get rich selling a $15 ebook about growing square watermelons – even though that might be a great passion of yours.

The demand just isn’t there. Maybe there’s a few searches a day on Google for the topic, and perhaps there’s some interest in the online “gardening enthusiast” communities – but you’d be hard-pressed to make even a few hundred dollars a month from ebook sales.

Similarly, you also aren’t going to have a particularly easy time getting rich by building websites about some seemingly “popular” topics like humor, jokes, funny pictures and so on. And while there are a few ways to “monetize” your site (with AdSense, CPA Offers, CPM Banners, etc.), it takes literally millions of website visitors to make even just a few thousand dollars in markets like that.

The demand is huge – but the visitor value is extremely low…

Instead, if you want to make it big online – pulling down an impressive six-figure income – you need to tap into markets with tons of demand, where the majority of the visitors are valuable.

You need to capture tons of traffic that wants to buy something. If you take this approach, you’d practically have to hijack your own order links (or affiliate links) not to make a sizeable income.

In fact – did you know that some affiliates make several thousand dollars daily just by promoting a single product in hot markets? (Just imagine what the merchant is making…)

In some markets there’s actually so much demand that the vendors are quite literally selling over a thousand units – or more – per day. Digital products, with practically zero overhead/delivery cost.

But it all comes back to tapping into valuable demand. In most cases, it takes no extra effort or “skill” to market to a valuable market than it does to struggle along with something you’re passionate about.

These two factors – demand and buying traffic – are what separate the “wannabe” marketers from the millionaires. Because there’s no real secret – you just need to sell what thousands of people are already buying.

The ball is now officially in your court. Are you tapping into markets with massive, valuable demand?

Or are you struggling to simply make a few dollars occasionally with a business that’s based on your own passionate interests?

A New Era For The Original Social Networks: Forums

I can recall back in the internet “olden days” when discussion groups were the only way to communicate with a group of people. The old bulletin boards were populated by the true die-hard computer geeks, when internet marketing was still just a baby.

I wish I knew then what I know now!

The real advent of group communications came along for mainstream internet use with forums… the original social networks. These wonderful tools for communicating with the masses exploded into every niche, allowing people from all over the globe to connect, converse and share.

There are several forums in the Internet Marketing niche that have stood the test of time: the Warrior Forum, the Anthony Blake Forum, and a handful of others are the few who were vibrant, active forums before the year 2000. These forums are the cornerstones on which many marketers build their internet empires!

In the fall of 2007, I brainstormed with a group of spectacularly brilliant marketers – one of which was the legendary Tony Blake. In a dazzling session filled with hypothetical ideas, wishes and enthusiasm, an idea formed in Tony’s mind… and that idea was to take his old-fashioned forum of 15 years and redefine what an Internet Marketing Forum should be in the 21st century!

Through months of research, planning and development, a new era in Internet Marketing Forums was born… there were many sleepless nights and excitement continued to build as “launch day” approached!

On March 12th, 2008, the brand-new Anthony Blake Online – Entrepreneurial Success Forum made it’s debut to the delight and amazement of it’s long-time, online community.

The ABlakeForum has leaped into the 21st century with features like user-embedded video, audio and images; a dedicated social network, exclusive “Members Only” content, frequent contests and prizes, social bookmarking and submissions, the ability to use affiliate links in signature files, increasingly lively discussions without worry of being deleted, zero tolerance SPAM security enhancements, expert-moderated forums in several internet marketing related categories, and so much more!

And the best is yet to come!! I know of several new features being primed for release this month alone… and all of it geared to helping you profit from your internet business!

How do I know all of this?

I’m one of three Admins on the forum – Tony Blake himself, of course, who keeps a close watch over everything; then there’s me, and my focus is on Development/Design; and Terry Crim the Technical Administrator, who’s expertise keeps the forum running smoothly, efficiently and securely.

If you haven’t yet registered at the ABlakeForum, now is definitely the time! There are so many features coming your way, several of which will be in “Members Only” areas that I’d hate to see anyone left out! Oh, and did I tell you – membership is FREE? That’s right…

Over the past 6 months, there’s been a decided decrease in forum participation across the internet. With quicker, easier ways to communicate like social networks, and those with instant gratification and feedback, such as Twitter, many of the mainstream forums have been discouraged by the lack of visitors.

I’ve watched some of the more popular forums struggle with implementing new ideas, yet there is still a general discontent with the way things are… holding onto what worked in the past is often a recipe for failure in the future if there is no room for growth and change.

But not at the ABlakeForum!

We’re happy to report a steady increase in visitors and traffic – far greater than we could have hoped for or expected only months after the re-launch! Our membership is growing daily, and we’re attracting some of the most brilliant marketing minds around to share and educate.

I hope to see you there! We’d love to hear your feedback, and we’re excited to roll out the newest features of this 21st century marketing forum over the summer. Don’t miss out! Sign up FREE today!
